On the REAL last day (in New York) we started the day bright and early at 6:00 but 10:00am Icelandic time, so it felt like we had a nice sleep-in before heading to the airport. Our airport shuttle driver played some amazing music on the way, setting the stage for what would shape up to be a long but surprisingly fun stint at the airport. Sadly, when we got to the airport, we had to say goodbye to our first friend, Samantha, who was quickly followed by Henry. They are both in the air now on their way home!
With much time to kill, the trio (Sienna, Nora, Anneke) and Grace set off to the TWA hotel for a couple hours in the 1960s. We played twister, then Nora got her hair done by a Dutch braid professional (Sienna)️.
We continued to explore finding a food court, an exhibit on flight attendant dress through the ages, and most importantly a photo booth!
Much time was spent frolicking before the inevitable parting. Nora was the first of the trio to depart to terminal 7, followed by the exit of Sienna to terminal 8, which left Annekke to make her way back to terminal 4. This brought to a close the 2025 Smithsonian trip to Iceland. Time to time-travel back to our realities!
