We woke up in Isafjörður, and after packing and cleaning, we departed from the hostel and walked to a local bakery where we ate a breakfast of coffee and pastries. All the pastries were delicious, but we particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissants – we bought the last of them!
By bus, we continued on to the Icelandic Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft, the home of the mystical “necro pants”. We also learned the story of a person executed for the use of a dangerous farting spell. Overall, this was a crazy museum filled with even crazier stories!
We then drove to the historic home of Erik the Red (Eiriksstaðir). There was a faithful recreation of an old Icelandic home like the one Erik would have lived within. We were told about his story and how the Icelanders lived within these homes before departing
We took our final stop at a farm called Eppstaðir, which made and sold its own delicious ice cream. They had some more traditional flavors like dandelion and rhubarb. We bounced on the trampoline outside while eating this authentic Icelandic treat.
Arriving at Reykjavik we checked back into the hostel we spent our first nights at. After briefly relaxing and cleaning up, we headed to our final group dinner of burgers, fish, falafel, and James K.’s birthday cake.
To cap off this wonderful day, we strolled through the nearby Botanical Garden in Reykjavik, conducting our final nightly meeting in the grass by a pond before (more) jumping on a public bounce pad—finishing the final full day of our trip laughing, happy, and tired.
